Surrey Schools given teacher training role

Following today’s news that four Surrey schools are among the first in England to be given a teacher training role as part of a new national initiative, Surrey County Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Learning Peter Martin said:

"Surrey has some of the best performing schools in the country and the success of these four schools in being picked for this national network is proof of that. I would like to congratulate everyone at the schools for securing such an important role in continuing to drive up educational standards."

The four schools are Esher Church of England High, George Abbot, South Farnham Junior and West Hill. They will be responsible for leading the training and development of teachers, support staff and headteachers at a group of schools.

In total, 100 schools have been selected for the National College for School Leadership scheme.
