Letter to the Times Newspaper

Sir,

I extend an invitation to those people who are disappointed about missing out on Olympic tickets to come to Surrey to watch Britain’s first bid for a gold medal for free. (Young lead the field in Olympic passion, P15, July 15).

The men’s and women’s road cycle races will take place in the county on the opening weekend of the 2012 Games with numerous vantage points available for spectators along the 87 mile route.

Perhaps this is why Surrey is living proof that excitement for the Olympic Games does exist outside London and I invite people from across Britain to come and watch Mark Cavendish and his team mates battle for glory.
