Culture secretary Jeremy Hunt has praised Surrey County Council’s good work in making the most of the opportunities created by the 2012 Games.
He told the website Get Surrey that the county is already seeing the benefits with £740m worth of Olympic-related contracts going to local businesses.
He said Surrey is playing its part and that events such as the torch relay will bring the magic of the Olympics to the heart of the county.
