Boosting investment in infrastructure is a key aim of a new group launched to promote economic growth in Surrey.
Surrey Future brings together all Surrey’s councils and business leaders to take a co-ordinated approach to targeting projects for the next 20-plus years.
Its immediate aims are:
• Supporting the local economy by reducing roads congestion
• Drawing up a strategy to improve rail capacity
• Compiling a list of schemes in preparation for funding bids.
At an event to mark Surrey Future’s launch, Surrey County Council leader David Hodge spoke alongside Guildford Borough Council chief executive David Hill.
