Community groups are being urged to bid for a share of £1 million that is up for grabs for projects that improve their local areas.
The call comes after a pot of cash to support schemes that make a difference to the community was swelled by an extra £250,000 as part of last month’s council tax announcement.
Application forms can be found at www.surreycc.gov.uk/communityimprovementsfund. Alternatively request one by emailing michelle.collins@surreycc.gov.uk. The deadline for bids in the next funding round is 28 June.
Last summer people at Lyne Village Hall were awarded £25,000 from the Community Improvements Fund to transform the facilities. In the video below, footballers, a budding ballerina, a young mother and a member of a dog training club give their views on how the cash has helped to make the hall a thriving community hub.
