Surrey County Council is proud to be sponsoring the jewel in the Pride events calendar, Pride in Surrey, which will take place on Saturday 25 September in Godalming.
The day will be filled with a range of fun activities including a parade to kick off the event, unrivalled entertainment from some big names on the main stage as well as amazing local talent on a brand-new community stage.
There will also be stalls to explore, representing a wide range of organisations and services for the LGBTQI+ community and information available to take away.
You’ll also be able to relax and unwind in the chill out zone and enjoy food and drinks while enjoying the music and atmosphere of a truly wonderful day out.
Katie Stewart, Strategic Lead for Equality Diversity and Inclusion at Surrey County Council, said:
“We’re delighted to be sponsoring this year’s Pride in Surrey event. We believe Surrey is a uniquely special place where all people are enabled to be themselves, achieve their full potential and contribute to their community. Equality and diversity is at the heart of what we do to deliver fair and inclusive services to meet the needs of all Surrey’s communities.”
Stephen Ireland, Founder & Director, Pride in Surrey, said:
“For us at Surrey LGBTQ Pride CIC (Pride in Surrey), Pride isn’t just about the one day event, it’s about continuing our work to celebrate, educate and connect the LGBTQ+ community and allies, recognising the intersectionality that exists within the community too.
“We are proud to be working closely with Surrey County Council, pushing for a more inclusive place to work, live and visit. Surrey is a beautiful place to be so why shouldn’t we put on an event recognising more of the beautiful through its diversity and cultural history.
“Pride in Surrey cannot wait to welcome everyone on Saturday 25 September in Godalming. Please don’t miss out on the South’s most inclusive, welcoming event. Don’t forget to get your entry pass at PrideinSurrey.org.”
