Eleven libraries announce Jubilee Big Lunches

With just three weeks to go until the Platinum Jubilee weekend, many neighbourhoods and communities have been getting busy organising Big Lunch celebrations in their roads, neighbourhoods, parks and local areas.  To ensure that everyone has a chance to get in on the Big Lunch fun – Surrey libraries have organised some Big Lunches in selected libraries to enable people to get together.  So far eleven Surrey libraries have announced their Big Lunch events. Taking place throughout June – the Big Lunch in libraries is a great excuse to get together and have lunch and enjoy some fun activities.

Susan Wills Acting Assistant Director- Cultural Services said “We at Surrey libraries wanted to make sure that everyone in our communities got an opportunity to come together this Jubilee for a Big Lunch celebration. The Big Lunch is a great initiative for getting communities together and what better place than at libraries who have community at the very heart of what they deliver in their local areas”

Guildford Library – Wednesday 1 June – 2pm

Leatherhead Library – Wednesday 1 June – 2pm – 4pm

Oxted Library – Wednesday 1 June – 12pm – 1.30pm

Staines Library – Wednesday 1 June from 10.30am

Molesey Library – Saturday 4 June – 10.30am – 12.30pm

Woking Library – Saturday 4 June – 2pm – 4pm 

Frimley Green Library – Saturday 4 June – 11am – 3pm 

Molesey Library – Saturday 4 June from 10.30am to 12.30pm

Staines Library – Thursday 9 June from 10.30am

Camberley Library – Saturday 11 June – 11am – 3pm – booking required

Shepperton Library – Saturday 18 June – 11.30am to 3pm

Chertsey Library – Saturday 25 June – 11.30am to 3pm
