Redhill library closing as a precaution whilst inspections to take place

Following the potential discovery of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) at The Harlequin Theatre, we have made the decision to close Redhill library today (27 September) whilst inspections take place. 

The safety of our library users and our library staff is our priority. This closure is a precautionary measure whilst we work with Reigate and Banstead Council and undertake further investigations ourselves.

Whilst we understand this is disappointing for library users, we welcome them at nearby libraries in the meantime. Reigate library is open until 5pm today.

We will make further updates in due course.

Update 28.09.23

Redhill Library will re-open this morning (28th September) at 9.30am.  Our structural engineers completed investigations yesterday afternoon and we are confident that the library can re-open as normal.
