The redevelopments of Chobham, Lingfield, and Reigate Fire Stations are due to start in Summer, 2024.
Surrey County Council is continuing to invest in the redevelopment of the Fire Stations to improve and update the facilities.
Originally scheduled for Spring 2024, the construction start-dates have been adjusted to accommodate the extensive planning involved in upgrading the facilities.
Chief Fire Officer of Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS), Dan Quin, said: “The redevelopment of our fire stations will enable us to serve our communities better. We are grateful to our staff, residents and communities for their support as we prepare for these works to start.
“The adjusted timelines are a result of careful planning and considerations necessary for such significant building work. The planning and execution of these projects involve rigorous planning applications, site-specific requirements and surveys, and the critical task of securing reliable contractors for the build work.”
He added: “Setting definitive timelines is challenging due to these processes, and further changes to timescales might happen. But we are committed to keeping staff and residents up-to-date with information at each stage of the project.”
