Surrey County Council has appointed Andy Brown as its new Executive Director of Finances and Corporate Services following a robust recruitment process.
Mr Brown, currently Deputy Chief Executive and Corporate Director Resources at Wiltshire Council, is expected to join the council next month subject to ratification by Full Council on 8 October.
Alongside his responsibilities as Executive Director of Finances and Corporate Services, he will also become Deputy Chief Executive and take up the statutory Section 151 Officer role.
Mr Brown, a qualified Chartered Management Accountant, has over 25 years of experience in finance and local government and was previously Chief Operating Officer and S.151 Officer at Cornwall Council.

“He brings with him extensive experience and know-how which will be invaluable as the council continues to weather the storms encircling local government and indeed the global economy.
