Surrey Fire and Rescue Service launches Christmas Toy Drive for children in hospital

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service is calling on the public to help make this Christmas a little brighter for children who will be spending time in hospital over the festive period.

From now until 19th December, Reigate Fire Station will serve as a drop-off point for new toy donations, which will be distributed to children at East Surrey Hospital and other local children’s services if there is an excess.

The initiative aims to bring festive cheer to boys and girls aged newborn to 16.

To ensure fairness and meet hospital guidelines, donations must adhere to the following rules:

  • Gifts must be new
  • No wrapping paper on gifts
  • No money, food, or perishable items

Donations can be dropped off at Reigate Fire Station between 9am and 9pm.

We’re encouraging the community to come together and support this wonderful cause. Let’s make sure every child has a gift to open this Christmas,” said Watch Commander Cameron Cornish.

By donating, you’ll help make a difficult time in hospital a little less stressful for these children, while also supporting our NHS colleagues who are working hard to care for them during the festive season.”
