Surrey County Council partners with Instagram influencers for final push of Multiply programme

In a bid to present the Multiply programme to a wider audience before it comes to an end in March, Surrey County Council has partnered with seven Surrey influencers to carry out an intensive Instagram campaign.

The Multiply programme is a government-funded initiative providing free numeracy training to improve people’s confidence and skills with maths. As the programme approaches its conclusion at the end of March 2025, this campaign aims to reach a wider audience and ensure that more Surrey residents can benefit from its offerings.

The Multiply programme has been running successfully for three years, helping hundreds of learners in Surrey enhance their numeracy skills, boost their confidence, and achieve their potential. Many participants have gone on to further courses and training, secured employment, or advanced in their current roles, demonstrating the programme’s significant impact on the community.

In a bid to make Multiply even more accessible and appealing to those who have not yet engaged with it, Surrey County Council has collaborated with seven prominent Surrey-based Instagram influencers. These influencers are: Louise Miller (@themummymiller), Sophie Heaven (@mrs_sophie_heaven), Lauren Frost (@the_honest_mum), Rachel Kitkat (@Rachkitcat), Amy Blaker (@amyclaireblaker), Katy Wignall (@justkatylately), and Lottie Rainbow (@Lottierainbow). They have created engaging and informative Instagram reels to make maths relatable, highlight the benefits of the Multiply programme and encourage Surrey residents to take advantage of this valuable programme before it closes.

The combined audience reach of the Influencer content is estimated to be over 300,000, showcasing the potential impact of this campaign in spreading awareness and driving engagement. By leveraging the power of social media and the influence of trusted and relatable figures, Surrey County Council aims to give the Multiply programme a final strong push and ensure that as many people as possible can benefit from free numeracy training before the end of the programme.

We are thrilled to partner with these high profile but relatable influencers to bring the Multiply programme to the attention of more people in Surrey,” said Clare Curran, Surrey County Council Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Lifelong Learning.

Their creativity and reach will help Multiply make a lasting impact and ensure that more learners can improve their numeracy skills and achieve their goals.”

The Multiply programme, funded by UK government, offers free numeracy training to help individuals build their confidence and skills with maths. As the programme draws to a close, Surrey County Council encourages all Surrey adults without a Maths GCSE or equivalent to take advantage of this opportunity and join the many who have already benefited from Multiply.
