Surrey welcomes six new firefighters!

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) is proud to announce the addition of six new firefighters to its dedicated team.

These brave individuals have completed their rigorous 15-week training and are now ready to serve and protect their communities.

The new recruits will be based at Reigate, Camberley, Salfords and Leatherhead – although, as with all Surrey firefighters, they will travel around the county to mitigate the risk and demand at any given moment.

Chief Fire Officer Dan Quin expressed his enthusiasm for the new team members, stating: “It was an honour to welcome these six outstanding individuals, and their nearest and dearest, to our service.

Their dedication and hard work during training have been exemplary, and we are confident they will make significant contributions to our community – whether that be during time of crisis or to prevent such emergencies in the first place.”

SFRS currently has opportunities for firefighters on on-call contracts at the following locations: Chobham, Gomshall and Haslemere fire stations. On-call firefighters are skilled people from all walks of life who offer daytime, evening and/or weekend cover at on-call fire stations in addition to their normal, day-to-day commitments. If you, or someone you know, is interested on being an on-call firefighter please visit Surrey County Council’s website
