Surrey Fire and Rescue Service recognised 59 employees and individuals at its annual Awards and Commendations Ceremony.
The Service honoured the exceptional service, courage, and commitment, held at Dorking Halls yesterday (Tuesday 21 October).
The event recognises individuals who have reached significant milestones in their careers – celebrating from 5 years to 45 years of dedicated service – as well as those who have demonstrated outstanding bravery and professionalism through meritorious actions.
One member of the public who alerted a family their flat was on fire, prevented the fire from escalating and potentially saved lives, was amongst those awarded.
Chief Fire Officer, Dan Quin, said: “This event is a highlight in our calendar, where we come together to recognise and celebrate the outstanding contributions and dedication of our colleagues and community members who help to keep the people of Surrey safer.
“Congratulations to all our award recipients, and thank you to the friends, family, and loved ones who have supported them and joined us last night.”
The recipients were presented awards not only by the Chief Fire Officer, but also the Deputy Lord Lieutenant Andrew Latham KStj, High Sheriff Peter Cluff, the Vice-Chair of Surrey County Council Bernie Muir and the Cabinet Member for Fire & Rescue and Resilience Kevin Deanus.
The evening is supported by sponsors, Rosenbauer, Delta Fire, and HAAS Alert.
