Warm Welcomes return on 1 November 2025 for the fourth time, run in partnership with Surrey County Council and community venues.
Warm Welcomes are free places for people to get warm in the colder months, have a free hot drink and socialise with others in their local area.
Last year from November 2024 to March 2025, over 65,000 Surrey residents visited our Warm Welcomes. Over 80 Warm Welcome spaces will once again open their doors from 1 November, at various locations across Surrey. These include community centres, church halls, local clubs, and most of Surrey’s libraries. Residents can visit any Warm Welcome to receive a free hot drink, stay warm and be with people in their local community. Some locations also offer free energy advice, social activities, community fridges, free winter essential items and much more.
Councillor Mark Nuti Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Public Health said: “We’re pleased to relaunch the Warm Welcome initiative once again this year, offering warm spaces for all, as well as support, advice and a place of community. We want to ensure that nobody needs to be sitting in a cold home feeling alone.
“We know how important warmth and company is for people’s health and wellbeing, and these spaces not only offer that but further help and advice should they need it.
“Everyone is welcome both young and old. So, if you need a place to warm up from the cold, come along to any Warm Welcome – enjoy a free hot drink, friendly company or support, we would invite anyone to take up this offer.”
Warm Welcomes are open to all, free of charge and will run from 1 November 2025 to 31 March 2026. For a full list of Warm Welcomes, visit our website: www.surreycc.gov.uk/warmwelcome
