Cllr Tim Oliver OBE, Leader of the Council, commented on the evening’s significance before the event started: “This evening we’re here to celebrate the fantastic achievements, of those that inspire us day in, day out. And of course, to recognise the strength of real, true partnership working, particularly where we’re all aligned around the same ambition, which is to improve the lives and the livelihoods of our residents. I’m certain that the human stories that we’re going to hear this evening will be a real testament to the power of community and the impact of people who care deeply about making a difference. That is what Stars in Surrey is all about.”
Mitesh Solanki added: “As Ringway, we’re here tonight, because we want to celebrate all the great stuff that happens within Surrey. And it’s also great to celebrate those people at the frontline. It’s a great thing for every level to be involved in part of this celebration.”
