Surrey residents invited to join Switch Together Energy and reduce energy bills

Surrey County Council is encouraging residents to take part in Switch Together Energy – a free, no‑obligation group‑buying scheme that helps households secure competitive energy tariffs, with many offers backed by 100% renewable electricity.

Run in partnership with iChoosr, a trusted expert in community group‑buying, Switch Together Energy brings households together so energy suppliers can bid to offer better value deals in a reverse auction. Residents who register receive a personal offer based on their usage and can choose whether to switch.

Marisa Heath, Cabinet Member for Environment and Planning, said: “We know switching energy suppliers can feel daunting – which is exactly why Switch Together Energy makes the process simple and hasslefree.

“Cutting emissions and bills at home really matters: by joining a groupbuying scheme, residents get access to competitive tariffs with clear information and no pressure to commit. On top of this homes and buildings are a major source of Surrey’s carbon footprint, so the choices we make can make a difference.”

The scheme supports Surrey’s broader ambitions to help residents manage the cost of living while making informed choices about their home energy.

Registration is open now until 13 February 2026. To find out more and sign up, visit the Surrey Switch Together Energy website.
