Most used roads should get more funding – Cabinet Member for Highways Colin Kemp made the case for the most used roads to get more funding to coincide with a conference he attended about developing England’s highways network.
Snow hits Surrey Surrey County Council stockpiled 14,500 tonnes of salt ahead of the winter and has a fleet of 39 gritters to help keep the county moving, while an army of farmers equipped with spreaders and ploughs are ready to step in if the snow gets heavy enough

Gritters went out yesterday afternoon and in the small hours of this morning to try & prevent ice from forming on the roads. The salt they spread isn’t magic so roads can still be slippy. Drive safely
