Chairman of Surrey County Council, Mrs Lavinia Sealy, has hosted a volunteering fair at County Hall this week. The event was an opportunity for staff and councillors to meet representatives of volunteering groups from across the county.
Mrs Sealy said “This is the first time we’ve held this event and I’m glad to say that it was a great success.
“The hard work that voluntary organisations do is vital to our communities and to individuals and I hope that this will be the start of a new ethos of volunteering amongst county staff.
“I hope too that it will promote a much greater understanding of the great work our voluntary and faith sectors do in Surrey.”
