New Surrey fire engines arrive

A fleet of new fire engines have been unveiled as part of Surrey County Council’s investment in new equipment.

Fire chiefs have taken delivery of two of the 12 new Scania engines as well as new equipment to cut motorists free from crashed vehicles.

Surrey County Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Safety Kay Hammond and Surrey Fire and Rescue Chief Fire Officer Russell Pearson were on hand to welcome the new equipment.

In Surrey, the county council performs the role of fire authority.
