Surrey County Council has won more national recognition for its website.
Information services business Experian has rated Surrey’s site – found at http://www.surreycc.gov.uk – among the top 10 for councils.
The Experian Hitwise UK Top 10 Awards recognise excellence in online performance through public popularity.
It comes weeks after the Society of IT Managers (SOCITM) handed the site the highest possible four-star ranking in its annual survey of the UK’s 433 local authority websites. Surrey was one of only 23 councils to receive the top rating.
Surrey County Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Services and the 2012 Games Helyn Clack said: “It’s great to receive yet more national recognition for our website as we seek to realise our ambition of becoming the best local authority in the country.”
On average, the council’s website is visited around 700,000 times a month.
