Surrey County Council’s leader has been given a key role with a major regional body representing councils across the South East.
David Hodge has been elected deputy chairman of South East England Councils. Gordon Keymer is the new chairman.
Mr Hodge said: “It’s an honour to take on this role for a body representing the collective interests of such a large number of councils in the South East.
“We will provide a single voice for the region by setting out economic, social and environmental priorities.”
