A party from China has visited Surrey County Council to strengthen education links.
Led by the Vice-President of Putuo Teachers’ College Mr Qu Zhijun, the 20-strong party from the district of Shanghai met council and school counterparts, including Chairman Lavinia Sealy, Cabinet Member for Children and Learning Linda Kemeny and Cabinet Member for Children and Families Mary Angell.
Mrs Kemeny, Surrey County Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Learning, said: “This was another opportunity to showcase our good practice and to learn from our Chinese colleagues.”
In 2009, Surrey and Putuo officials signed an updated pledge for their schools to develop new partnerships and reinforce existing ones. It replaced the original document signed in the autumn of 2005 at County Hall.
