Sheerwater and Maybury International Day

People are invited to cast their vote on whether a number of travel-themed community projects in Sheerwater and Maybury should receive funding.

Travel SMART in Sheerwater and Maybury is a new initiative designed to provide local people with more travel choices and help them cut carbon, calories and cost. It aims to make it easier for people to travel as well as reducing the need to travel by bringing services into local communities.

As part of the initiative, funding has been allocated to Sheerwater and Maybury and local community groups and organisations have applied for money to develop projects, which they believe will improve access to travel in the local area.

People now have the chance to vote for the projects they think will bring most benefit to the area, putting local people at the heart of decision making.

Voting will take place at the Sheerwater and Maybury International Day, between 3pm and 7pm, on Saturday, November 10, at the Maybury Centre, in Board School Road. Entertainment during the dun day will include dance, bands and from around the world.

Find out which projects will be voted on and details about them here.
