More than 300 bids for Olympic memorabilia

More than 300 bids for a slice of Olympic history have been received by Surrey County Council.

The authority offered the opportunity to snap up flags, banners and bunting used to line the roads for the London 2012 road races and time trial events in Surrey.

People were asked to write 100 words explaining why they should receive a souvenir and 320 entries were received by the deadline.

Bidders will find out if they have been successful by the end of February.
