Boris Johnson has praised Surrey County Council for the success of yesterday’s Prudential RideLondon-Surrey events.
Writing in the Daily Telegraph today, the Mayor of London said the events were “a triumph of organisation”.
He also highlighted the “astonishing beauty” of Surrey’s countryside.
Surrey and London hosted the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 that saw around 16,000 amateurs before 150 of the world’s best cyclists tackled the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic.
Tens of thousands of spectators turned out to cheer the riders on their way through London and Surrey’s countryside following the success of last summer’s Olympic cycle races on the county’s roads.
