Pupils celebrate GCSE success

Following the release of GCSE results yesterday, Linda Kemeny, Surrey County Council’s Cabinet Member for Schools and Learning, said: “Surrey has some of the best state schools in the country and their dedicated teachers have helped pupils achieve excellent results.

“Many congratulations to all the pupils who have worked so hard to get their GCSEs and I wish them all the best in their future studies and careers. I would also like to thank our excellent teaching staff for the support and guidance they have provided.

“I’m confident our schools will continue to encourage young people to unlock their full potential and ensure further success while we’ll keep on doing all we can to ensure every child gets the best possible start in life, including continuing with the biggest expansion programme Surrey’s ever seen to create the 16,000 extra places needed in the coming years.”
