Routes agreed for 2014 cycling festival in Surrey

The routes for next year’s Prudential RideLondon-Surrey cycling events have been agreed in principle by Surrey County Council.

The Cabinet today agreed the routes after asking local parish, borough, district and county councillors for feedback, and also decided in principle to hold the RideLondon-Surrey 100 and Classic events for another four years.

Prudential RideLondon-Surrey will officially reveal the approved 2014 routes early next year once any final changes are made.

The county council today also approved its cycling strategy, which calls on Government for a law to register all road cycling events like sportives. This week local community groups were awarded more than £380,000 in grants by the London Marathon Charitable Trust following the 2013 Prudential RideLondon-Surrey events.
