Plans unveiled to expand Woking school

Hundreds of extra places will be created at a Woking school under plans unveiled today.

The proposals will add 300 secondary places at St John the Baptist Catholic Secondary School and boost sixth form capacity by 100.

Surrey County Council’s Cabinet has signed off the first phase of the scheme that includes three new classrooms, a sports hall, changing rooms and a games area. It is expected to be completed by September 2015.

A further 12 classrooms are planned for the second stage.
