Get set for Surrey festival of reading

Young People’s Laureate for Wales Martin Daws, Fizzlebert Stump author AF Harrold and Beano comic artist Kev F Sutherland are among a host of people lined up to appear at a reading festival for children.

The trio will be involved at the seven-week Surrey Libraries Festival for Children, which starts on 24 May with the aim of inspiring them to read more and explore their creative side further.

As readers prepared for World Book Night, Surrey County Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Services Helyn Clack said, “This year’s Festival will be jam-packed full of wonderful things for children and their families to get up to. Be crafty at art workshops, have some noisy musical fun and meet your favourite authors and illustrators.”

A full programme of events can be found on the council’s website.
