Multi-million-pound Surrey regeneration plans approved

A major community regeneration project in Surrey can get started after receiving planning approval.

Surrey County Council, Reigate and Banstead Borough Council and Raven Housing Trust will transform the Portland Drive area of Merstham with flats, shops, a youth skills centre, library, community centre and a supermarket after councillors gave the go-ahead.

Surrey County Council Cabinet Member for Business Services, Denise Le Gal, said: “It’s great that we can get started on giving local people an exciting mix of new homes, shops and community facilities that will transform their neighbourhood and boost Surrey’s economy.”
