A delegation from the Treasury has visited the county council to learn more about how innovation is being driven forward across Surrey. The seven-strong party was joined at County Hall by David Clark from the Public Service Transformation Network to hear about an initiative that has improved the lives of more than 400 families and a successful project to divert young people away from crime.
Julie Fisher, Surrey County Council’s Strategic Director for Business Services, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome officials from the Treasury to showcase the great work being done in Surrey by public services to give vulnerable people a brighter future. Finding new ways of delivering better services is absolutely vital, especially when the council is facing dramatically rising demand for adult social care and school places.”
