RideLondon leads to cash for Surrey community groups

Community groups and charities in Surrey are set to get more than £370,000 thanks to the county’s role in the Prudential RideLondon events.

Welcoming the money from the London Marathon Charitable Trust Surrey County Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Services Helyn Clack said: “Thousands of cyclists defied the appalling weather and managed to make the event yet another success and this is even more good news as local good causes will see the benefit.”

Brockham Parish Council
Youth Council Skatepark on former recycling site Brockham £45,000

Holland Sports Athletics Club
Resurface athletics track and create landing area for discus and shot £25,000

Horley Town Council
Outdoor gym at Horley Recreation Ground £10,000

Frensham Parish Council
Outdoor gym equipment at Hollowdene Recreation Ground £8,000

Runnymede Rockets BMX Club
Complete renovation of track £50,000

Abinger Cricket Club
Replacement of drainage system £12,000

Byfleet Cricket Club
Extension and refurbishment of clubhouse £35,000

Wey Kayak Club
New kayak store and additional Boats at Guildford Waterside Centre £50,000

Newdigate Cricket Club
New cricket pavilion and scout hut £70,000

Oakwood Hill Cricket Club
Refurbishment of showers and toilets £5,000
