Pre-inquest hearing into Deepcut death to be held in Woking

A pre-inquest review into the death of Cheryl James will take place on Monday 14 December.

Miss James died of a gunshot wound in 1995 at Princess Royal Barracks, Deepcut, Surrey. The High Court ruled last year that the inquest held on 21 December 1995 into the soldier’s death should be quashed and a fresh inquest held.

The new inquest will be conducted by His Honour Brian Barker QC.

The venue for the pre-inquest review on 14 December is HM Coroner’s Court, Station Approach, Woking, Surrey GU22 7AP.
It will be held in public at 2pm.
