While families open presents and tuck into Christmas dinner or relax over the new year, it’s business as usual for the council’s unsung heroes who will be serving their communities over the festive period.
Peter Martin, Surrey County Council deputy leader, said: “While most of us are opening presents are tucking into a turkey dinner on Christmas Day or relaxing on New Year’s Day after seeing in 2017, it’s business as usual for the council’s unsung heroes who will be serving their communities over the holiday period.
“I’d like to thank them wholeheartedly for the work they do to make sure Surrey’s residents are supported 365 days a year. Every day is a working day in many of our services so we’re pressing for fair funding for the hugely important work they do.”
