ROUND-UP: Hundreds set to attend careers fair; Consultation on boundary review proposals

Hundreds set to descend on careers fair

Hundreds of young people are expected to descend on Epsom next month for a major careers fair organised by Surrey County Council and the University of Surrey.

It is aimed at young people looking for help in making choices about their career – whether they want information on college courses or are looking for apprenticeships or jobs.

It will feature an array of employers, training providers and colleges as well as higher education representatives.

Anyone wanting to attend the Surrey Careers Fair at Epsom Downs Racecourse on Wednesday 8 November can visit Eventbrite to register for free and find out more. It takes place between 3.30pm and 6.30pm. Last entry will be at 6pm.

Consultation on boundary review proposals

Residents are being invited to have their say on revised proposals for parliamentary constituency boundaries as part of an ongoing review.

The Boundary Commission for England is conducting a national review with a view to reducing the number of constituencies and MPs.

Following an initial consultation last autumn and another this spring, the commission has now published updated proposals and is asking for people’s views about them.

They have until 11 December to have their say. Final recommendations will be submitted to Parliament next September. The consultation can be found on the Boundary Commission’s website.
