Pre-inquest review hearing into death of Pte Geoff Gray to be held in London

A pre-inquest review hearing into the death of Private Geoff Gray will take place in London on Friday 1 February 2019 at 2pm.

It is being held in advance of the fresh inquest into Pte Gray’s death which is due to begin on Tuesday 26 February 2019 at Surrey Coroner’s Court in Woking.

Pte Gray was found dead at Princess Royal Barracks, Deepcut, Surrey in September 2001. The High Court ruled in November 2017 that the inquest into his death, held in March 2002, should be quashed and a new inquest convened. The fresh investigation and inquest will be conducted by His Honour Peter Rook QC who has been appointed as an Assistant Coroner for Surrey.

The pre-inquest review hearing on 1 February will be held in public at the Central Criminal Court, Old Bailey, London EC4M 7EH. A pre-inquest review hearing is an administrative hearing and no evidence will be heard.
