One year on from first announcing additional multi-million pound highways funding, the county council has revealed that more than 270 roads have been improved so far.
The council is investing an additional £20 million in a two-year programme to improve roads across Surrey most in need of repair.
Surrey County Council Cabinet member for Highways Matt Furniss said: “From Church Hill in Camberley to Larch Avenue in Guildford and Pendleton Road in Redhill, the work we’ve done on more than 270 roads is making a real difference to drivers across the county.
“This is on top of the 70 resurfacing schemes done and the 50,000-plus potholes filled and I have no doubt that motorists will continue to notice the improvements we’re making to Surrey’s roads, which are among the busiest in the country, as we carry on with our £20 million programme in the coming year.”
