Water Safety Event – Virginia Water

Members of the public are invited to a water safety event this Sunday from 11.00am.

Details on the event are below:

What-
Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) are working with local authorities, and partner agencies to organising a water safety event to unveil public throwlines for use in an emergency.
RNLI, Surrey Search and Rescue (SurSAR) and SFRS will be providing water rescue boat demonstrations, followed by talks on the dangers in and around the water, and actions to take in an emergency if you get into difficulty while in the water, or see someone else in difficulty. South East Coast Ambulance Service and Royal Life Saving Society will be demonstrating first aid for water related incidents, and there will be an exciting opportunity for members of the public to practice throwing throwlines to casualties in the water, and learning basic life support. The Mayor has also confirmed his attendance.
