VIDEO: Veterans get together at new drop-in event

A new drop-in hub is bringing Epsom and Ewell veterans together and giving them access to advice and support.

At their last meeting, they socialised over chicken provided by Nando’s Epsom and met staff from organisations who can point them towards help.

The hub is one of several around Surrey aimed at expanding support for former servicemen and women, both younger and older. As well as offering practical advice, the hubs foster friendships and help ensure veterans get the support they need such as social care. For details of hubs throughout the county click here.

The hub at the Comrades Club, Epsom is a partnership between the Royal British Legion, Epsom and Ewell Borough Council, Surrey County Council and Forces Connect South East. The drop-in is held on the first Wednesday of every month from 10.30am to 12.30pm, with the next one scheduled for 2 October.

Watch Zoe Kirby, of the Royal British Legion, and Tracey Morris, of Surrey County Council, outline how the hub is supporting veterans.
