The best of business in Surrey was celebrated at the 2021 Surrey Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.
The awards, organised by Platinum Media Group, are the largest event of its kind in the county.
Over 320 of the county’s leading businesspeople gathered for the sell-out event held at Denbies Wine Estate on Thursday 18 November. The awards were presented by news anchor and the first ever winner of Strictly Come Dancing, Natasha Kaplinsky.
Surrey County Council sponsored the international business of the year award, won by Creative Nature. Council Leader Cllr Tim Oliver said: “Congratulations to Creative Nature and all the winners at this important event. I am delighted to see that business in Surrey is in such a strong position.
“It is vital that we showcase the amazing work being done by businesses of all sizes in Surrey as we continue to lead and support the county’s economic recovery.”
Fiona Graves, Events Director at Platinum Media Group and organiser of the awards, said: “The gala dinner is the night of the year where the community comes together to celebrate business in Surrey. It is a fantastic evening recognising and acknowledging the outstanding work businesses in our region are doing.
“The Awards, now in their third year, attracted an excellent mix of applications from all business sizes and sectors, with the standard of applications being very high. I’d like to congratulate all the winners and shortlisted finalists of this year’s awards.”
This year saw a record-breaking number of nominations for each category, with hundreds of applicants whittled down to just sixty finalists.
The judging panel was made up of business experts from a variety of industries including representatives from NatWest, Mazars, Partridge Muir & Warren, projectfive, RSM, Surrey Business School, Surrey County Council, Surrey Research Park, Verlingue Ltd, BNI Surrey, Greatest Hits Radio Surrey & Hampshire, Hilton Woking, Surrey Chambers of Commerce, Sandown of Mercedes-Benz, Surrey Business Magazine and Charles Russell Speechlys.
