VIDEO: Extra 160 school places as future demand set out

Plans to create space for 160 more pupils at Spelthorne Primary School were signed off as the county council’s Cabinet unveiled a document setting out likely demand for places in Surrey in the coming years.

The School Organisation Plan was discussed as the Cabinet pressed on with the biggest investment programme in Surrey’s history by approving the final phase of the project to create 210 extra places at the Ashford school.

Likely demand for places over a decade and the action that could be taken to meet it is set out in the school plan, which is reviewed annually. The plan will now be discussed at Surrey’s Full Council on 6 May.
