Amateur riders will tackle Surrey’s climbs with an English cycling legend, a rugby World Cup winner and a Tour De France champion when they take on Sunday’s Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 challenge.
Chris Boardman, who won Olympic pursuit gold in 1992 and three Tour de France stages, England’s 2003 Webb Ellis Cup-winning captain Martin Johnson and Stephen Roche, who claimed 1987 Tour glory, are riding in the mass participation event.
A press release about the famous names joining the thousands of amateurs on the start line and details of a cycling show being staged to tie in with this weekend’s events in the capital and Surrey can be found on the RideLondon website.
