Surrey residents whose homes flooded last winter now have more time to apply for a Government repairs grant of up to £5,000.
The county council has extended the deadline for residents and businesses to apply for the Repair and Renew grant, which was set up by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to reimburse costs paid out to upgrade flood-hit properties.
Residents now have until 31 October 2014 to apply to join the scheme after the county council extended the deadline from the end of September.
Once the work has been done, successful applicants must submit their full grant claims by 1 February 2015.
