Surrey bids for £27 million flood defence improvements

Surrey County Council has bid for £27 million from Whitehall to improve local flood defences.

The council has asked for the money to better protect residents across the county from a repeat of last winter’s floods.

Below is a video of John Furey, Surrey County Council’s Cabinet Member for Flooding Recovery, outlining the bid which covers schemes ranging from diverting streams to improving flood defences.
