Surrey chairman welcomes new Lord-Lieutenant

Surrey County Council Chairman Sally Marks has welcomed the appointment of Michael More-Molyneux DL as the new Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey. He will succeed Dame Sarah Goad DCVO when she retires on 23 August 2015.

Mrs Marks said: “I am delighted to hear that Michael More-Molyneux is our county’s new Lord-Lieutenant, his already noteworthy record in support for Surrey’s many voluntary organisations and his family’s long association with the county means he is very well placed for his new role. We, at Surrey County Council, send our very good wishes and congratulations to Michael and his wife Sarah on this very important appointment. Surrey has been extraordinarily fortunate to have had Dame Sarah Goad as our Lord-Lieutenant for the last 18 years and as she retires next month, we send her our good wishes and thanks for her outstanding service to our county.”

For more information on Mr More-Molyneux’s appointment please see the Prime Minister’s Office website.
