ROUND UP: Make the most out of your tablet computer; New Lord-Lieutenant to start role

Make the most out of your tablet computer

Tips on how to make the most out of tablet computers will be handed out at an event being run by Surrey County Council’s libraries service.

The session, which takes place at Guildford Library on Friday 28 August, is part of the monthly Digital Friday workshops and will teach people how to turn their tablet into a portable library by downloading newspapers, magazines, music and ebooks.

The free event runs from 10am to 12.30pm and tickets can be booked online.

New Lord-Lieutenant to start role

Surrey’s new Lord-Lieutenant is preparing to start work as the Queen’s representative in the county.

Michael More-Molyneux DL takes over from Dame Sarah Goad DCVO on Sunday 23 August.

Surrey County Council Chairman Sally Marks welcomed his appointment last month while paying tribute to Mrs Goad.

More details about Mr More-Molyneux can be found on the Prime Minister’s Office website.
