Potential foster carers can find out more about the role at a series of events being held by Surrey County Council.
Children’s authors Carolyn Robertson and James Craker will be talking about how their experiences of fostering and adoption influenced their writing in an event at Woking Library on Wednesday 10 May.
The free event will run from 7pm to 9.30pm and tickets can be booked online.
There are also a number of drop-in mornings, which are taking place at cafes and libraries across the county in May, where residents can chat with foster carers and care leavers about their experiences.
People do not need to book in advance and can drop in between 9.30am and 11am. For a list of venues and dates visit the county council website.
