ROUND-UP: Fire stations stage charity car washes; Performing arts library consultation open until next month

Fire stations to stage charity car washes

Two Surrey fire stations will be staging car washes this weekend for charity.

Firefighters from the Farnham and Epsom stations in Guildford Road and Church Street respectively will be raising money for the Fire Fighters Charity on Saturday between 10am and 4pm.

On Sunday, firefighters from Woking will be at Jubilee Square teaching the public how to perform lifesaving CPR from 10am to 2pm.

Crews will also be on hand at Sunbury station’s open day on 30 September to tell people about their work and offer fire safety tips.

The event, which will also feature Surrey Search and Rescue and St John Ambulance, takes place between midday and 4pm.

People can have say on performing arts library until next month

Surrey residents are being given until the start of next month to have their say about the future of the county’s performing arts library.

Anyone wishing to offer their views can provide them until 1 October. Details of the consultation and how members of the public can submit comments can be found on Surrey’s website.
