Sharing services to save up to £8 million a year

Plans to bolster buying power and save millions of pounds by sharing services with East Sussex have been signed off by Surrey County Council.

The Cabinet has approved a proposal to launch a joint initiative, which will:

  • Cover teams in IT, human resources, property, procurement, finance, legal and other services
  • Save up to £8 million annually within four years
  • Aim to provide services in partnership with other public sector organisations
  • Deliver public service innovation.

East Sussex’s Cabinet is due to consider the plans next month.

In the video below Cabinet Member for Business Services Denise Le Gal sets out the benefits of the move. More information can be found in a report to the Cabinet.
